Rose is Ready for her Forever Home

Dear sweet loving 5 1/2 year old Rose is ready to have a forever home to call her own. She is a big fluffy Berner who weighs 105 pounds. This is probably pretty close to her ideal weight. She has been spayed, she is up to date on vaccines, and she has a microchip. Later this week she will have her teeth cleaned by our vet. She is house-trained and crate trained. She knows most basic commands. No cats please. Rose has a very high prey drive so she will not do well with cats or other critters. While walking, which she walks pretty well on a leash, if she smells, hears or senses say a squirrel she will do everything she can to chase it. Her foster plants her feet firmly and hold the leash tightly, so far so good, our foster has not been seen flying behind Rose in the neighborhood. Rose would really prefer to be the Queen of the Castle and be the only dog in the home. She would settle for sharing the castle with a super mellow male dog. Rose gets extremely overly enthusiastic about treats, we suggest no hand feeding as the human might be missing a finger or two once treat feeding is complete. Rose wants to be with her people, so much so that she has a history of guarding her person from other dogs in the home. This resource guarding has improved and pretty much stopped but we do expect this behavior will resurface once she moves to her forever home. Rose loves for her people to be home, she would do best with a family who is home more than not. Adoption fee is $450.00. We do not transport our Berners, adopter should plan to travel to Rose's foster home in Louisburg, NC to pick up her up.
