Our dear sweet Freyja is ready for a forever home to call her own. Freyja is a 5 1/2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog who is one happy loving girl. She has been spayed and it up to date on all vet matters. She LOVES to be with her people. She would do best in a home where the humans are home more than not. She loves everyone! She has never met a stranger. She gets along with every dog she has met to date. Her foster thinks she will do just fine with cat friends. She knows most basic commands. She is house and crate trained. She is fine with children of all ages, she does get very very excited so she might knock a small child down from time to time. She loves riding in the car and does very well in the car.
Freyja has been obese most of her life. She really needs to shed many pounds. Since arriving in her foster home she has lost 10 pounds. Her forever family should plan to walk her daily and continue her weight loss. Arriving at her foster home she had a slight limp. We have had this limp checked out by a vet. It appears to have been a soft tissue injuiry that slowly healed and would have probably healed faster if her weight was much less.
Freyja has a quirky digestive system. She is currently eating Honest Kitchen dehydrated food with a Vitamin B Complex powder added. We have been told she did well on a previous prescription kibble.
If you are ready to add a mature, extremely loving girl to your family, Freyja is the Berner for you.
She is located in Louisburg, North Carolina. The adoption donation is $450.00. We do not transport our Berners, adopter should plan to travel to her foster home to pick up Miss Freyja.
