Finn is Ready for a Forever Home to Call His Own

Mr. Finn is ready for a forever home to call his own. He is 6 years young, up to date on vaccines, has a microchip, and has been neutered. He weighs about 120 pounds, he needs to loose a few pounds to be at a more healthy weight.

Here is what his foster has to say about him:

Finn is one sweet boy. He would love to be petted 24/7, but hey what Berner doesn't. He is house-trained and crate trained. He does not get into items he shouldn't. He does not counter surf, you can see the wheels turning, he really would like to taste what is on those kitchen counters but he doesn't dare try.

He knows most commands and in true Berner fashion, sometimes he listens and sometimes he doesn't. He is one happy boy in the mornings and is very excited you are up and can now pet him or take him on a walk. He does better with a good routine and he catches on to the routine pretty quickly.

He has met all of our neighbors, he walks right up to them for pets. Once he has decided they are okay, he might get excited and try to jump on them but this has not happened often.

He prefers female dogs over male dogs. He has only lived with female dogs, he has never lived with male dogs, we have no idea how he would do living with male dogs. He has never met a cat so we have no idea how he would do with cats.

He has never lived with children full time. He does prefer a calmer quiet household. He has never lived in a "big" city. He only knows humans home most of the time. We leave the house every day even for just a few minutes so he gets more accustomed to humans coming and going from the home.

He loves our walks each day, we take 4-6 short walks daily. Walks are new for him, he tires pretty quickly but he does love being outside smelling all the new scents and meeting people.

He does not like his ears or paws touched, we are working on this.

He is currently eating dehydrated Honest Kitchen with grain, turkey. He is doing beautifully on it.

We learned this week he is not a fan of rain or thunderstorms. He gets a bit worked up and just wants to be petted and touching you during the thunderstorm.

Overall Finn is one great Berner. He is loving and sweet. He has a deep loud wonderful bark. He just wants to be loved and petted all day long. He has his moments where he is excited and acts a fool but most of the time he is a pretty mellow boy.
