Callie is Ready for a Forever Home

Updated: May 22, 2020

Miss Callie is ready for a forever home to call her own. She is 3 years old, a petite girl of 60 lbs or so, up to date on vaccines, spayed, has a microchip and is house-trained. Callie will do best as the only dog in the home. She does get along with most dogs most of the time but at the end of the day she really wants to be the Queen of the Castle as the only dog in the home. Callie is not a fan of sharing her toys with other dogs and this can cause some trouble. She of course like all Berners loves attention, she loves it so much she will bark and bark and bark to get your attention and affection. Callie loves children of all ages but she would do best with older children such as teenagers in the home. She loves younger children but she will get herself in trouble when it comes to toys and the young kiddos. Like most Berners Callie has a stubborn streak a mile long, when she doesn’t want to listen, well you know the drill, a stubborn Berner will listen when they want to and only then. She does know all the normal commands that make for good manners. We do not often require a fenced in yard but with Callie a fenced in yard is preferred. Callie will bolt or run away if given the chance. Who can blame her, she wants to check out the world but unfortunately she could become lost very quickly and no Berner should ever be lost from their family. Callie loves riding in the car, she travels very well. She has taken a number of trips with her foster family and has done great! Callie and cats do not make good friends, no cats in the home please. Callie’s foster family loves her dearly and says she is one special girl; she is full of energy and one very loving girl. She is located in Columbia, South Carolina. We do not transport our Berners, adopter will need to plan to travel to Callie’s foster home to pick her up. Adoption fee is $450.00; this fee allows us to continue to help Berners like Callie’s find their forever happy ever after. If interested in potentially adopting Callie please email: info@bfwrescue.org
