Banjo is Ready for a Forever Home to Call His Own

Our dear sweet wonderful 4 year old Bernese Mountain Dog Banjo is ready to have a forever home to call his own. Banjo had been a stray before he landed in one of our plush foster homes. We have no idea how long he had been out in the world on his own. Overall he is one sweet loving boy! His foster tells us he has great house manners, he is crate trained and house trained.

As a result of ear infections that had gone untreated for a number of years, Banjo recently had bilateral total ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy. While the procedure was successful and he is healing very well from surgery, Banjo is deaf. This has not slowed him down or stopped him from seeking all the love and affection he can get from his people.

He has been in pain for years and did not want dogs or people near his ears. At this time our foster feels he will do best as the only dog in his forever home. Once he is settled and relaxed in his forever home, he might do fine with other dogs out and about. Deaf dogs can be startled more easily than hearing dogs, other dogs in the home at this point just might be

too much for Banjo.

He does great with cats. He is around several cats daily.

Banjo would do best in a home with no children, children are active and busy, they could easily startle him. He would do best in a home that is probably more quiet than not. We are sure he would love his humans to be home much more than they are away.

Banjo is located in Elkton, Virginia. He is adoption fee is $450.00. We do not transport our Berners, adopter should plan to travel to foster home to pick up Banjo.

If interested in Banjo, please complete our adoption application and return the completed and signed application to info@bfwrescue.org.
